SLED: Student Leadership Education & Development GRANT

Current students can apply for $ to participate in off-campus experiences such as educational conferences, workshops, or classes that demonstrate the potential for learning leadership skills and pursue growth in a field of your interest not currently offered at ArtCenter. Research now and apply! Attached is a copy of the survey, so that you can get a feel for the questions in advance of applying.

Funds may not be used retroactively, meaning that all proposals must begin after Thursday, February 21. 
We recommend that applicants search out opportunities that are scheduled Late February 2019 - Early October 2019.

Complete applications are DUE by MONDAY WEEK 6 (2/18/19) by 9AM. 

No late or incomplete applications will be accepted. 

Remember to read all directions and submit a complete application!

- Students (degree seeking) from all undergraduate and graduate disciplines are eligible to apply. 
- The Committee will only review/consider one experience per student!
- Applicants must be current ArtCenter students and in good academic and disciplinary standing.
- Applicants must complete the experience prior to graduation.
- Priority will be given to students who have not received a previous grant. 

Funds may not be used in connection with personal projects, Sponsored Projects, curricular courses for credit, field research, senior projects, thesis work, or experiences that are solely networking opportunities.

In the past funds have been used for the following types of learning experiences:
Educational Conferences: 
TEA Summit, Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, Open Engagement, SIGGRAP, CORE 77, IDEO U, Medical Design Conference, Biofabricate, Udacity, dwell, Creative Time, AAAI Symposium, Primer Conference, and the College Art Association Annual Conference
Workshops: glass blowing, pigment making, Cornerstone Theater, Open Book, Light Grey Art Lab, and Film Independent Forum, Sk8scapes, Shakespeare Scene Study, Swedish Language Immersion, Ballet Folklorórico, and open water diving classes for underwater photography
Art and Design Exhibits: 
Men’s Paris Fashion Week, Salone Internazionale del Mobile, Cannes Film Festival, Museum of Art, Architecture, and Technology, Bauhaus Archiv Museum, and Cars 'n Couture at the Magnus Walker Loft
