Instructor: Digital Retouching and Output
Native Californian, Patti Peters has spent her life in the LA area.
Ms Peters worked in the private sector for ten years before joining Art Center in 1985. Over the past twenty five years Patti has devoted her professional life to the study of color photography and its processes. Well versed in traditional color photography including color negative and transparency films, C-41 and E-6 processes and custom color print making Ms Peters now is involved in the digital medium. She is proficient in digital imaging software, capture and digital color printing.
Patti is a valued member of the Photographic Department. She manages the department's digital lab and oversees the student work study program therein. Ms Peters coordinates guided and gives informative educational demonstrations. Patti aids students with their printing and processing needs in both digital and traditional lab environments. Ms Peters assists with the color lab's operations and is a vital asset in the orientation of new students.
Patti has offered her expertise to non-profit entities within her community, assisting organizations with both educational and photographic needs. Her personal work includes documentary photography, botanical photography, fine art photography and historical preservation. Patti captures the inherent qualities of light including color, form and texture in natural settings. Ms Peters has attended numerous workshops pertaining to wide format digital printing, producing striking fine art prints. Patti's greatest joy however, is teaching. She truly enjoys sharing her knowledge and experience with students and faculty alike.
